Australian Actors Actresses Biography.
Over the years Australia with a population of around 22 million has managed to send out into the world many talented actors both male and female. Their success has enabled other young actors the opportunity to build a career in an industry which is constantly on the search for new talent. Some of Australia's most amazing talent may not have been born here eg; Nicole Kidman, Mel Gibson and Russell Crowe but their are many others who born and bred in Australia have received accolades across the sea. Hugh Jackman (X-Men), Guy Pearce (LA Confidential), Ryan Kwanten (True Blood) Barry Humphreys (Dame Edna Everidge) are just a few who have made it to the top.



Lachlan James Buchnan is a name for you to watch. This young new breed of actor, already with an impressive line-up behind him in Australia including the hit surfing film NEWCASTLE directed by USA born Dan Castle, three episodes in the long-running TV series HOME AND AWAY, 26 episodes in BLUE WATER HIGH and the soon to be released ARCADIA LOST directed by Phedon Papamichael and starring Nick Nolte. Lachlan has made the move to Los Angeles and is currently undergoing various auditions there.
As well as an accomplished actor Lachlan has also written a screenplay titled REBEL PATRIOT, the story of Nathan Hale and set during the American Revolution. This dramatic action adventure screenplay covers his short life until his execution at the age of 21 as a spy. The story covers his days at Yale College, his enlistment in the Continental Army as a First Lieutenant and becoming Captain after a short period of time. The story encompasses the revolutionary days during the Battle of Lexington, Boston, Winter Hill and Long Island. Nathan Hale was an extraordinary young man and a real American hero. Lachlan aims to present this to a suitable director who has the same vision he has and that being Oscar material.
Lachlan is also being offered the role in a new comedy titled MY BAGGY PANTS by a New York City production company. Whether or not he accepts this role will depend on the various roles he has been offered and his availability.
Before he left Australia he was also a presenter of the Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards, Australia.
His future lies before him and at the age of 21 he has many years ahead of him. One day soon we are going to see this very talented young man in many different roles up there on the silver screen.
